4-4-2 Formation

1-There are 2 players in each part of the regions. These groups of players need to be compatible with each other (1). They must act together, follow each other. As long as they do this, they will be more successful both in defence and offense. For example, when the winger goes forward, the fullback should approach midfield. In this way, the defence does not weaken in the area left empty by the winger (2). The winger does not have to think about the defence and has more freedom in attack.

2-Better press can be done in the third zone. Strikers go to the centre-backs, right and left midfielders to the fullbacks, and 4 defenders are disturbed (1). If the opposing team has 3 defenders, 2 players can press the same defender to win the ball. As these presses intensify, the opposing team panics and tries to go to the opponent's field with long passes (2). As a result of long passes, the probability of losing the ball increases.

3-You can have 4 players in the midfield under any circumstances. For example, when left and right midfielders go forward, fullbacks approach the midfield (1), or when centre midfielders approach the penalty area, centre-backs go to centre (2). If centre midfielders come back while defending, strikers go to the midfield (3). In all 3 tactics, there are 4 players in the midfield. If you have 4 players in the midfield, the opposing team will constantly see at least 1 opposing player while using the wings or centre.

4-One of the biggest disadvantages of formations which have four defenders is that when one of the centre-backs approaches the midfield to make a move, large gaps appear in the centre of the defence (1). You can solve this problem in this formation. When one of the centre-backs goes forward, fullbacks approach the centre. Left and right midfielders come back (2). Both the number of players on the defence increases and when a centre-back who goes forward wins the ball, he starts the attack in the second zone.

5-Players who are in 3 regions are important in today's football. That's why their prices are high. These 3 zones are the front of the defence, the back of strikers and wings (1). If you pay attention, you see that you do not need players from these 3 regions in this formation. These areas are directed by 2 players and used at intervals (2). There were no star players in the squads of champion Leicester and Europa League winner Villarreal who preferred 4-4-2 formation. They created star players because they applied the formation correctly (Kante, Mahrez, Pau Torres, Gerard Moreno…).

6-If one of the centre midfielders turns to the penalty area and right and left midfielders move to the centre, 4-3-3 formation can be transitioned (1). Moreover, in 4-3-3 formation, the distance between the attacking players is large, they have to run into the penalty area. But when they implement this plan correctly, the attackers will be close to each other (2).

7-The characteristics of centre midfielders determine general situation of the team. If you choose players who have better offensive skills, the team will be better at attacking (1). If centre midfielders who have better defensive characteristics are preferred while the team is in front, the team will defend better (2). In front of both penalty areas, 2 players will be in that area depending on the situation, so you will be in control of the game.

8-2 players cannot come to wings and penalty area all the time. When 1 player comes to the wing or in front of the penalty area, one of the strikers approaches the player from behind and continues the attack in that area. The other striker must be effective in the penalty area. Because when other striker moves away from the penalty area, the individual skills of the striker in the penalty area should come to the forefront.
