1-Wingers approach each other and try to balance the
number of players in each area of the opposing half (2 wingers vs 1 centre-back
and 1 full-back or 2 wingers vs 2 centre-backs). While one player tries to run
behind the defence, the other player tries to send the ball to him.
2-The centre attacking midfielder becomes a striker
and approaches centre-backs. The point to be noted is that if centre
midfielders do not go forward and stay behind, they cannot control the centre
of the pitch. In this way, when the opposing team wins the ball in their own
half, they easily pass to the other half.
3-Choosing a region and attacking from there. When
playing with 10 players, it is very difficult to be in every part of the
attack. Therefore, an attack can be made from the area where the opponent is
weak or where there is a full back player who likes to attack. When players
coming from behind are included in this area, the probability of entering the
penalty area increases.
4-Switching to 4-3-2 formation and not using the
wings. It may be a suitable option to defend by positioning all players in the
centre. When attacking, players make less effort if they don't go to the wings
at all. If 2 front players and 3 midfielders go to the penalty area together,
they can be effective in all parts of the box.
5-Wingers waiting on the side lines. If the wingers
don't come to the centre and stay only on the wings, they can be effective
thanks to long passes. While the opposing team is attacking with many players,
the wingers can score a goal in a short time if the players quickly move to the
other half. To achieve this, players need to be very good at the long pass.
6-Using the field between defenders and centre midfielders.
Sometimes teams which have 1 more player, come very close to the opponent's
penalty area. Defenders, on the other hand, do not participate in the attack so
that the defence does not weaken. If players make long passes that are not
close to the defenders when they win the ball, players who are in this zone can
take the ball and move more easily to the opponent's half.
7-Involving one of the fullbacks into the attack. If a
winger starts to play as a striker at the start of the attack and the fullback
on that wing joins the attack, the number of attacking players increases. If
this fullback does not go forward all the time and sometimes the other fullback
joins the attack, the energy of the fullbacks will be better preserved.
8-Making mistakes by focusing only to defend. Many
teams move into first zone when the striker is shown a red card and focus
solely to defend, reducing the distance between players. They rarely go to the
opposing half, and they want to end the game that way. However, if no attack is
made, the opponent constantly plays close to the penalty area and somehow
scores.
